Hamburger Steaks Baked in Cream

Hamburger Steaks Baked in Cream Recipe

Hamburger Steaks Baked in Cream was a recipe that Kenny's mom added to a recipe book she created for him when he was in college.  This is one of his favorite meals!

Hamburger Steaks Baked in Cream

1 1/2 lbs Wells Farms Ground Beef
1/4 cup Dry Breadcrumbs
3 T. Chopped Onions
1 t. Worcestershire Sauce
1 egg
Salt and Pepper
2 T. Butter
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
2 Carrots, Chopped**
2 Stalks Celery, Chopped**
1 T. Flour
1 cup Cream
1 (10 3/4 oz) can Cream of Celery Soup
2 T. Chopped Parsley (or Micorogreens)
** I often double the number of carrots and celery.

Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, 3 T. onions, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt and pepper in mixing bowl.  Mix Well.

Form the mixture into 8 patties.

Melt butter in a heavy skillet over moderate heat.

Fry patties until well browned on both sides and then remove to a 9x13 baking dish.

Add onions, carrots, celery to pan drippings and sauté until tender.

Add flour to the vegetable mixture and stir until well blended.

Combine cream and cream of celery soup and then add to the vegetable mixture.

Reduce the heat to low and cook until the mixture is hot and well blended.

Once the mixture is hot and pour over the hamburgers in the baking dish.

Cover tightly with foil.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

Serve hamburgers with mashed potatoes and garnish with chopped parsley or microgreens.
