Caramelized Balsamic Onions

Caramelized Balsamic Onions and Steak - made with Wells Farms Steaks and The Oilerie 25 Year Balsamic Vinegar

When I tasted the balsamic vinegar from The Oilerie in Sun Prairie for the first time, I just knew I needed to use it with our beef.  This balsamic is aged for 25 years and is like a sweet syrup.  It is absolutely delicious!

While at the Sun Prairie Farmers Market last week I spied some gorgeous looking onions from Lundeen Farms and instantly thought they would be perfect to pair with the balsamic and our beef.

We grilled up some of our Wells Farms Premium Beef T-Bone steaks and topped them with the caramelized balsamic onions and they were the perfect pair.  The only thing that could have made it better would have been if I had some blue cheese crumbles to sprinkle on top.  The balsamic onions are a versatile dish and would be fantastic with a pot roast or a burger with a little Wisconsin blue cheese.
