Build a Game Day Worthy Cheese Board

Charcuterie Board - Wells Farms Summer Sausage and Beef Sticks - Wisconsin Cheese from Sassy Cow Creamery -

Charcuterie Boards - Cheese Boards - Snack Boards - Whatever you call them, they look pretty impressive right? They look complicated to figure out what all you need to put on them, right? Wrong! They don't have to be difficult to put together at all! I just bought the cheese, the rest of the stuff on this board was things I already had at home.  Here is the rundown of what is on my board so you can create one yourself.

Meats:

Cheese:
(I purchased all of this cheese locally at Sassy Cow Creamery)

  • On the Board -
  • Hooks 3 Year Cheddar
  • Crave Cheese Marinated Fresh Mozzarella
  • Sartori Cheese Rosemary & Olive Oil Asiago
  • Door Artisan Cheese Valmy Beer-Washed Gouda
  • On the Side -
    • Hoards Creamery Belaire
    • Pine River Dairy Smokey Bacon Cheese Spread
    • Pasture Pride Juusto with Bacon
There are so many options here! One suggestion would be to mix it up with different textures of cheeses.  For example - a hard cheese like asiago, a firm cheese like cheddar, semi-soft cheese like butterkase, a soft cheese like burrata, and a blue cheese.
All in all - use the cheeses you like! There is no right or wrong way to go.

Starches:
I just used a variety of crackers I had on hand.  Here are some additional ideas...
  • Bread
  • Crostini
  • Pita
  • Flavored crackers - garlic, smoked, sea salt, etc.
  • Cheese crisps
  • Mini toasts
  • Crunchy bread sticks
Accompaniments:

  • Pistachios
  • Black Olives
  • Sweet Gherkins
  • Pepperoncini
  • Sliced Apples
  • Other ideas of fillers you can add:
    • Fresh fruits - grapes, strawberries, cherries, raspberries
    • Dried fruits - apricots, cherries, cranberries, pineapple
  • Jams, Jellies or Preserves

There is no right or wrong way to put together a snack board.  Just grab some meats, cheeses, and fillers to fill in any spaces between the crackers, cheeses and meats and throw them on the board.  I promise, it will look like you are a pro.
