Biscuits and Gravy Casserole

This hearty breakfast casserole doesn't require any overnight prep and is perfect for a wholesome, cozy breakfast on a cold winter day!

 

 

Ingredients:

1 pkg (8) Refrigerator Biscuits

1 lb Wells Farms Breakfast Sausage (browned)

6 eggs

1 1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp salt

2 TBSP butter

1/4 cup flour

dash black pepper

dash smoked paprika

 

Directions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F

2. Spray/Grease 9x13 or 12x10 baking dish

3. Lay biscuits in a single layer in prepared baking dish

4. In a cast iron or heavy bottom skillet, brown the sausage.

5. Spoon the sausage over the biscuits.

6. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheese over the sausage.

7. In a bowl mix together, eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp salt.

8. Pour egg mixture over the biscuits, cheese and sausage.

9. In the pan you used to brown the sausage, add 2 tbsp butter to melt.

10. Add 1/4 cup flour to the pan and mix with the butter.  Cook for about 1 minute until bubbly and just starting to turn a light brown.

11. Add the 1 cup of milk, dash of pepper and paprika.  Stir until thickened.

12. Pour the gravy over the biscuits and sausage. 

13. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.

14. Bake for 30 minutes until the eggs are fluffy and the cheese is melted.
