BBQ Beef Sandiwch

BBQ Beef Sandwich - Tailgate Food - University of Wisconsin Badgers Tailgate food - Wells Farms Premium Beef - Chuck Roast - Crock pot recipe - Madison, Wisconsin - Local Beef

Today at the Sun Prairie Farmers Market we hosted our monthly, "Sample Saturday".  Last year I committed to making the first Saturday of every month Sample Saturday, where I would prepare a recipe using our beef and bring it to the market for customers to sample.  Well we are in the 12th month and I am excited to say we have did it.  We made it all 12 months with samples for all of you.

Today completed the last month of Sample Saturday and with our beloved Buckeyes playing the hometown team, the Wisconsin Badgers, it only seemed fitting to make a good tailgate food.  So last night I whipped up one of the easiest recipes you can make for a Football party - Crockpot shredded BBQ beef sandwich sliders. I hope these sliders hit the spot for your guests and are a cinch for you to make.  (Oh and go Buckeyes!)

Sorry, I didn't snap a single picture of the sandwiches to share with you all.  It was all gobbled up before I got a chance to get a good one! I will make sure to get some the next time we make these and add them to this post. ;) Oh and don't worry, I think Sample Saturday is here to stay. So come see us on the first of the month at the Sun Prairie Farmers Market for another sample!

BBQ Shredded Beef Sliders

Ingredients:
1 large onion - chopped
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
2 cloves garlic - minced
Salt and Pepper
2 - 3 lb Wells Farms Chuck Roast
24 slider buns

In your slow cooker combine the onion, ketchup, apples cider  vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic.

Add the beef roast and spoon some of the sauce mixture over the top.

Cook in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours or until the meat easily shreds.

Remove the beef from the slow cooker and sauce and shred.  At this point you can skim off the fat from the sauce and discard.  Add the shredded beef back into the sauce and mix well.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.  Serve with slider buns and enjoy!
